Shipping’s ‘Paris Agreement’ needs its regulators
The shipping industry has received the IMO’s initial greenhouse gases strategy warmly over the past year, loosely interpreting its provisional targets as a roadmap of what direction companies are expected to take over the next 30 years. But that is only one of the ingredients needed to attain and even surpass these targets. Regulators need to make the difficult decisions soon, beginning in May at MEPC 74
