Danish shipowners address sulphur cap ‘myths’

Safety implications from the sulphur cap regulation arguably top the list of concerns ahead of 2020. But Danish Shipping is arguing that potential safety problems come down to insufficient preparation by companies. With crew expected to manage much of the change, Greek salvage operator George Tsavliris questioned whether they can really adjust to the new fuels in time, while criticising shipowners, in particular Greeks, for not lobbying hard enough during earlier sulphur cap discussions

Danish Shipping is putting forward the argument that problems with 2020 sulphur cap compliant fuels might be indirectly caused by the lack of timely preparation by shipowners
