Japan to phase out Russian oil imports following G7 meeting
The decision will add to the sanctions-led momentum of shifting trade patterns that has so far been seen as positive for the tanker shipping markets
Cutting crude oil from Russia, which made up 4% of its total imports, appears less challenging for Japan. The country has already reduced its Russian crude imports by 45.4% in April compared with March, according to Lloyd’s List Intelligence data
