Poseidon banks reject emissions snapshot
Banks say coronavirus and a change to the emissions methodology distorted the results, making idle cruiseships and ferries look dirtier than they really are
Banks have complained after the Poseidon Principles’ latest report showed just 11 out of 23 shipping portfolios were on track to meet the International Maritime Organization’s 50% CO2 reduction target. They say coronavirus and the metric change made the data hard to compare with a year ago, but gathering it still helped them steer their customers toward greener fleets
