Drop in Canadian wheat adds to softer bulker demand
A slide in dry bulk rates from decade-highs can be attributed to a sharp fall in availability of Canadian wheat supplies for export, combined with lower iron ore trade and other commodity weaknesses
The dry bulk market is hovering around five-month lows on weaker iron ore shipments, mainly from Brazil and India, and an expected sharp dive in wheat exports from Canada, combined with a slow start to the European export season
