World Shipping Council rejects US criticism
In their December 16 letter addressed to WSC president and chief executive John Butler, Federal Maritime Commissioners Carl Bentzel and Daniel Maffei expressed concern over the availability of empty containers for US export cargoes
Butler tells the FMC: ‘Despite ocean carriers taking multiple simultaneous steps in those parts of the network over which carriers have some control, the fact is that there are multiple factors outside of carriers’ control that negatively affect the free flow of cargo’
