Port of Los Angeles 'under strain' from burgeoning traffic
The port's executive director Gene Seroka says cargo volume is up 50% in the second half of 2020 from what arrived at the docks during the first six months of the year as more ships wait at anchor for berths
Seroka’s remarks coincide with an announcement by AP Moller-Maersk that it is taking container congestion and intermodal equipment scarcity seriously and is addressing concerns of US agricultural exporters and truckers who are feeling the impact during this ‘already difficult time’
