Industry says greener shipping needs collaboration

There are tremendous opportunities for new fuels to help the shipping industry reach its decarbonisation goals but it needs substantial investment and global regulation to help close the gaps as well as collaboration among players to succeed. Stakeholders are urged to leverage on their combined expertise to work on the many pathways in parallel and achieve a ‘snowball effect’

Co-operation and collaboration are needed to speed up the drive towards decarbonisation as the industry is reminded that timeframes are not as long as many imagine. Regulations such as carbon levies also need to be predictable and equitable
