Jera snaps up Barossa stake and affirms interest in Darwin LNG
The Japanese LNG trading outfit is to take a 12.5% stake in the Santos-operated Barossa project, which is being developed to secure feed gas for the Darwin LNG plant. This investment serves to back up its 6.1% interest in the northern Australia LNG export project
The stake sale to Jera, which is still being finalised, is in line with Santos’ move to raise cash from farming down its equity interest in Barossa and Darwin LNG to fund the brownfield development
