California blocks cruiseship as coronavirus hits port business
Dozens of passengers have had flu-like symptoms during the past two weeks so test kits for the infection have been sent to Grand Princess, which is at anchor off northern California. Authorities said the results would be available on Friday
Pacific Merchant Shipping Association president John McLaurin told Lloyd’s List that ‘because of the coronavirus, cargo volumes are down; vessel sailings have been cancelled; and empty containers are building up’.
