EU funds Wärtsilä-led project to cut emissions
The European Union has awarded money to an international consortium of companies and academic institutions targeting new technology that can cut emissions and save fuel. Wärtsilä hopes to have the product in the shortsea markets in Europe and Asia by 2025.
The company said a new engine and propulsion solution could slash CO2 emissions by 46% and fuel consumption by 30%
