Tankers and LNG carriers will gain most from trade-war truce
A ceasefire in the China-US trade war is a welcome development for the shipping industry especially for liquefied natural gas, tanker and dry bulk players. The deal is however seen as challenging for China as the country has promised to buy an additional $200bn of US goods and services by 2021
The immediate restoration of imports would induce long-haul shipments, which is likely to boost tonne mile demand for all shipping segments
