Trump’s new tariffs decried by ports and retailers across the US

The new tariffs will come on top of the 25% duty already in place on about $250bn worth of Chinese goods. The duty levies mean that virtually all trade with China will be subject to new taxes. Retailers take issue with Trump’s ‘flawed’ tariff strategy

Even before the new tariffs were announced, ports across the country expressed concern over the adverse impact to their operations, particularly the purchase of China-made dock cranes needed to enhance their productivity
