Tougher action urged on misdeclaration of cargoes

Speakers at the third Asian Marine Casualty Forum spoke up with varying degrees of determination when suggesting that the problem of misdeclaration of cargoes must be more seriously addressed. With similarities between incidents 17 years apart, it seems the industry has not done much inbetween times

The prospect of a major incident happening in port close to a population or commercial centre was brought up as a possible disaster scenario that would quickly change perceptions
