Shell-led joint venture mulls doubling LNG Canada export capacity

The JV partners will reach a decision in the next five years on a proposal to boost LNG Canada export capacity to 28m tonnes per annum. Shell and its four partners expect to reach a final investment decision on the second phase of the project before it starts operations in 2025

LNG Canada’s chief executive Andy Calitz says the second expansion phase being considered by the JV is ‘a very competitive export project’
