Lloyd’s List’s Hong Kong seminar adds speakers

The territory’s maritime challenges will be examined at a Lloyd’s List business briefing during HK Maritime Week

New speakers include Vincent Lai, chief executive of Landbridge Holdings, and Deepak Saxena, part of Kerry Logistics’ management team

HONG Kong-based executives Vincent Lai and Deepak Saxena are the latest speakers to join Lloyd’s List’s much-anticipated Business Briefing to be held during Hong Kong Maritime Week.

Lai is the chief executive of Landbridge Holdings. A former chief financial officer at Wah Kwong Maritime Transport, he brings over 20 years’ shipping and finance experience to the briefing, including stints at Cosco and PwC.

Saxena, part of Kerry Logistics’ management team, brings a similar period of shipping experience to the event, especially in Asia Pacific logistics.

The briefing, on November 19, will address two fundamental questions: What does Hong Kong’s future look like in the context of China’s overall direction and; how will the territory’s maritime cluster adapt to required changes?

Other speakers include Peter J Levesque, group managing director of Modern Terminals in Hong Kong, and Peter Glover, a disputes lawyer and partner with Norton Rose Fulbright.

Sponsored by the Hong Kong Maritime and Port Board, the briefing will feature prominent maritime and banking executives who will translate China’s economic strategy into what it will mean for Hong Kong’s planners and business leaders.

The event, to be hosted by Lloyd’s List chief correspondent Richard Clayton, will be held in the Renaissance Hong Kong Harbour View Hotel.

Attendance is limited and strictly by registration, available here.
