China imposes IMO Tier II rules on imported ships
Imported ships and Chinese-flagged vessels that apply for domestic trades must comply with the nitrogen oxide limits. One broker says the policy sends out a clear message that China wants to curb imports of secondhand ships
Move is expected to ramp up Chinese imports of tonnage in the short term and largely reduce the age of domestic trading ships in the longer run
