IMO faces day of reckoning on emissions
The IMO kicks off two weeks of highly politicised greenhouse gas reduction negotiations today in London. Highly ambitious proposals backed by EU, Pacific and some developing states will face off against a Brazilian-led opposition against firm reductions as Japan looks to shore up support for its middle-of-the-road proposal.
