IT IS tough to be affiliated with a colossal folly, which is the best way to describe the excesses exposed by Dubai’s financial crisis. Elements of that folly march forward, given the decision earlier this week to go ahead with the opening of the Burgh Dubai, the world’s tallest building, but renamed as Burj Khalifa, honouring Sheik Khalifa bin Zayed al-Nahyan, the president of Abu Dhabi, which loaned Dubai $10bn a few weeks ago and saved it from bankruptcy.
