Political tension hampers progress
A LITTLE over two years ago as the general election in Sri Lanka ended peacefully and Mahinda Rajapakse took over the presidency from Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunga at the end of her maximum two terms, the prevailing sentiment was: “What is so wonderful about peace? The war would have been better!”
