Free at last Somali hijack hostages fly home after 83 days
THE five crew members of Danish cargoship Danica White (in blue uniforms) held captive by Somali pirates for 83 days have returned to Denmark. Danish shipping company H. Folmer & Co, which owns the vessel, confirmed yesterday that the crew had been flown to Copenhagen from Djibouti, where they were released late last week after a ransom was paid to their hijackers. The pirates had demanded $1.5m. The shipping company has so far refused to say how much was paid.
