Statoil weighs up North Sea discovery
STATOIL has found oil and gas on its Ermintrude prospect near the Sleipner platforms in the central North Sea and is considering development options. The Norwegian company is drilling a sidetrack into the block 15/6 discovery to find more gas and condensate reserves, which could be above the oil zone, to firm up reserve numbers before development studies can begin. Ermintrude was drilled by jack-up rig West Epsilon, 10 km north of the Sleipner platforms in 114 m of water.
