THE definition of a “salvage operation” has been under High Court scrutiny in a battle over whether the rescue of a coaster called Tramp by the tug Sea Tractor on the River Swale, near Washer Wharf, Queenborough, constituted a salvage operation, or simply ordinary towage services.
