A lucky escape for Propontis
ON FEBRUARY 9, 2007, at 0145 hrs, the crude oil tanker Propontis, fully laden with 110,000 tonnes of oil, ran aground off the island of Suursaari in the Gulf of Finland, while attempting a passage through the traffic separation scheme, writes Craig Eason.
