The real dangers of ‘toxic cargo’
WHEN the disabled containership MSC Napoli was beached off Dorset in January 2007, it came as a surprise to the general public that, of the 2,300 boxes it was carrying, 159 contained some sort of dangerous goods. The local press picked up on this and splashed headlines warning of the threat to the public from its ‘toxic cargo’.
