Snow drift Weather system hits Piraeus
Leading Greek port Piraeus was inches deep in snow yesterday as the centre and south of the country continued to feel the impact of icy winds and heavy snowfall, writes David Osler. Meteorologists said the weather system was moving southeast towards the Greek islands. Meanwhile, a Greek navy frigate towed a Russian military vessel to safety after it sent out a distress call in the Aegean. According to the Russian navy, the vessel had lost all its power. AP
