Violent attacks on the rise off Africa
PIRATE aggression and the use of violent tactics are on the increase. At least seven people have been killed by pirates so far this year, and at least eight people remain unaccounted for. Tens more have been injured, particularly around the coast of Africa. As a result, civilian crew members are increasingly calling for armed security personnel to be deployed on board their vessels.
