WHEN, a year ago, Germany’s premier port of Hamburg revealed it had returned to double-digit box growth after what was presumed to have been a momentary blip in the previous term, suggestions that normal service had been resumed and that much the same could be assumed for 2008 were not held to be wide of the mark, writes Christopher Mayer.
