MOL teams up with e5 Lab to develop hydrogen hybrid car carrier
MOL and fellow Japanese shipping solutions provider e5 Lab will conduct a joint study of a hybrid pure car carrier equipped with a hydrogen fuel cell system and large-capacity batteries. The pair are working to develop and promote electrically powered zero emissions vessels
The technologies are aimed at trying to meet the IMO’s 2050 carbon dioxide emissions reduction targets through hybrid technology, alternate energy, hull design, and improvements in operations
