A 0.1% sulphur cap in the Mediterranean Sea is coming closer

A roadmap for the introduction of a Mediterranean Sea sulphur emissions control area is now in place. More impact studies will be done, and the area's governments will decide if they want to go ahead with it in 2021. If they agree, the earliest a 0.1% sulphur limit would apply would be March 2025

The governments involved have agreed on the next steps, but their roadmap leaves the possibility open that they will not ask for a Mediterranean Sea sulphur emission control area
