Pakistan may have called off long-term LNG tender
Pakistan LNG was tendering for the supply of 33.6m tonnes of LNG over 10 years but this has been cancelled due to inadequate demand, Reuters reported. LNG prices on the spot market for the same year-on-year period have hit historical lows so it would be unsurprising that Pakistan would choose to cancel the long-term tender and turn to the spot market instead
Spot prices in Asia have failed to break the price point required to support long-term offtake arrangements this year and this has not lent support to the now-aborted Pakistan LNG tender
