WoodMac forecasts continued long-term growth in China gas imports

The positive outlook is a conclusion drawn despite China being expected to become the world's third largest gas producer by 2027 and is mainly due to lower forecasts for domestic gas production particularly in shale gas and coal bed methane. Slightly better prospects are seen for conventional and tight gas output

China’s national oil companies have responded to the call for more upstream exploration and production activities and have formulated seven-year plans to raise budgets and boost upstream exploration
