HFO ban would cost Arctic cruise passengers ‘a glass of wine’
How much would passengers on a cruiseship travelling between Rotterdam and Boston in the summer be willing to pay for a ban on heavy fuel oil in the Arctic? According to the green campaign group Transport & Environment, if the ban came in 2021, the ticket price would average about $6 more per day, or a glass of white wine sold on board the vessel
New study comes ahead of regulators resuming negotiations on the fate of HFO in the Arctic at the IMO’s 73rd Marine Environment Protection Committee
