Türkiye raises transit fee for straits
Türkiye’s Transport and Infrastructure Ministry lifted the fee for vessels transiting the straits to $4.42 as of July 1, from $4.08 currently
The decision is intended to increase foreign exchange revenues for Türkiye, as the Turkish lira has been sharply depreciating against the US dollar since president Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s re-election last month
