Shipping skips over short-term struggles in favour of long-term aspirations

Shipping has successfully decoupled emissions from seaborne trade volumes through a combination of technology and slow steaming, but there are limited savings left to find without tackling the difficult issue of split incentives and the reality that inefficiency is currently rewarded
