The annual Lloyd’s List Shipping Outlook Forum is established as the agenda-setting event of the maritime calendar
The annual Lloyd’s List Outlook Forum returns on December 8 bringing together the expertise of Lloyd’s List and Lloyd’s List Intelligence with the industry’s key decision makers to directly answer the most critical questions shaping maritime markets in 2023 and beyond
2022 was meant to be the year that shipping and global trade was put back on an even keel post-pandemic but instead it faced a series of Black Swan events.
Add to the mix the ongoing concerns with decarbonisation, digitalisation and innovation, the challenge for the experts at this year’s Lloyd’s List Outlook Forum will be to turn trepidation into preparation for what can be expected next year and further into the future.
Joining Lloyd’s List editor Richard Meade on the panel this year are:
-
Rasmus Bach Nielsen, global head of fuel decarbonisation at Trafigura
-
Karrie Trauth, head of shipping at Shell
-
Michael Parker, president of transportation at Citi and chair of the Poseidon Principles
-
Magda Kopczynska, director, DG for Mobility and Transport of the European Commission
Among the topics to be discussed:
-
What has been the impact of Russian sanctions and what effect will they have on maritime going forward?
-
How will new regulations alter the industry’s focus on decarbonisation, from newbuildings to accessing finance?
-
What progress will there be with future fuels availability and infrastructure in the year ahead?
-
What needs to be done to accelerate the uptake of innovative new solutions to drive efficiency?
Attendees will also get the chance to have their say in a series of interactive polls during the live event, helping shape the conversation and acting as a temperature check on market sentiment.
