COP27 offered dialogue and promises but progress remains to be seen

The conversations at COP this year are less siloed and more focused on shipping’s position within the wider energy system shift, but translating COP’s rhetoric into hard action at the IMO rarely aligns directly

There are positive indicators to be taken from this year’s COP27 climate summit, but the litmus test of how much progress can be wrung from the plentiful pledges and promises made by governments and industry over the past two weeks will only be visible at the IMO
