IMO’s Lim calls for shipping to ‘lead by example’ on climate
The International Maritime Organization’s secretary-general was confident that despite the session being held remotely, member states could make progress ‘at the usual IMO speed of co-operation’
Mr Lim opened the Marine Environment Protection Committee meeting with a plea for states to up their ambition on cutting emissions from shipping. Environment groups demanded not to be sidelined given the limited discussion time
