Carriers are not to blame for sky-high freight rates that have been driven up by shippers and forwarders, the head of sea logistics at Kuehne+Nagel tells Lloyd’s List in the weekly podcast

Amid complaints from cargo interests about lack of ship capacity, Schacht says lines are doing whatever they can to provide enough space, by chartering ships and buying more container equipment, but nevertheless demand continues to outstrip supply, with the inevitable impact on transport costs
