The latest in a string of regular tanker convoys delivering between 1.05m-4m barrels of Iranian oil to Syria per month is about to arrive at the Baniyas refinery. The pattern of semi-clandestine shipments operates with well established patterns of AIS signals being turned off, but vessels have now also started increasing security and regularly stop at a suspected covert military ship operated by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps before entering the Suez Canal
