Mi Chuanjin, Sailor’s e-home
Mi Chuanjin, founder and chief executive of digital crew platform Sailor’s e-home, has set himself an ambitious goal: to overturn the current service mode of seafarers by drastically reducing their service period per sailing. He envisages a more flexible crew change system that imitates the way the ride-hailing tech firm operates
The "seafarer scalper-like" model in China's traditional crewing business has led Mr Mi to create his start-up, aiming to digitalise the service and reduce job-hunting and training costs for seafarers. And he is seeing the latent opportunities, with growing users and data on his digital platform
