Maersk opens distribution centres in Vietnam
Danish giant said it wanted to capture the ‘future growth’ of the Southeast Asia country, which is widely viewed as an emerging global manufacturing hub
Three distribution centres with a combined warehouse area of nearly 38,000 sq m have been added to Maersk’s logistics capacities in Vietnam to improve its end-to-end services

It is four years since Maersk began its corporate transition. It has now set targets for its logistics business to grow by 10% a year while increasing the company’s profitability
Maersk says the partnership would further enhance the global network of the TradeLens system, which now directly integrates with 300 organisations, including more than 10 container shipping carriers
Maersk bet the farm on selling off non-core assets and focusing on container logistics. The gamble appears to have worked, with the company’s ocean customers voting with their wallets by taking up its logistics services
