Indonesia probes suspected illegal Iran oil transfers
Iran-flagged Horse and Panama-flagged Freya are suspected of conducting illegal ship-to-ship transfers in the waters off Pontianak in West Kalimantan. Both VLCCs had AIS turned off and were conducting their activities at night
Coastguard says the tankers are suspected of several violations, including not displaying national flags, shutting off their Automatic Identification System signals, anchoring illegally and spilling oil. The vessels are being escorted to Batam for further investigation
