Ships urged caution after Iran seizes South Korean tanker

Iran’s Revolutionary Guards seized the chemical and oil tanker Hankuk Chemi over alleged 'oil pollution' in the Middle East Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz. It comes as Iran has pressured South Korea to let it access $7bn in oil funds frozen by two South Korean banks

BIMCO has warned shipping to be on its guard after Iran seized a South Korea-flagged handysize tanker in the Strait of Hormuz. The group says it is unclear if the incident is linked to Tehran’s soured relations with South Korea, its heightened tensions with the US, or alleged oil pollution
