MOL steps up safety measures to prevent another Wakashio
Japanese shipping company MOL is introducing safety measures to make sure that another incident similar to the Wakashio, which grounded off Mauritius in July, does not happen again
The charterer is investing the equivalent of almost $5m in sweeping measures related to ship equipment, training, and shore-based communications, as it largely blamed the crew for the incident, which led to untold environmental damage in the pristine waters off Mauritius
