Russian miner to boost Elga coal exports to China

Elgaugol, developer of the Elga coal deposits in Russia, says it aims to ship 15m-18m tonnes of coal to China next year, 20m-24m tonnes in 2022 and 30m tonnes from 2023

The company wants to further boost the volume to 50m tonnes per annum in the longer term, according to general manager Aleksandr Sergeevich Isaev. He also says the Russian shipments will help China reduce its reliance on sourcing coal from Australia and the US
