Glencore to cut emissions through coal assets depletion
As Glencore’s chief hands over reins to his global coal head in the first half of next year, the commodities trader and miner is positioning itself as a renewables company with higher targeted production of components to make electric car batteries
The commodities trading house aims to become carbon neutral by 2050 mainly through the natural depletion of its coal assets. It sees itself aiding the decarbonisation revolution by focusing on increasing production of nickel, copper and cobalt, used in electric car batteries
