Tanker blast shows risk of fallout from Yemen war
The Houthis’ beef is with the Saudi-led coalition, not international shipping. Passing vessels are unlikely to be directly targeted, but fallout from the Saudi-Iran proxy conflict means threats cannot be ruled out.
The suspected mine attack on the Greek-owned crude tanker Agrari follows an uptick in Houthi attacks on Saudi Arabian oil and marine infrastructure. Analysts say the blast has not changed their risk assessments, but ships with links to the Saudi oil industry remain potential targets
