Crew taken from bunkering vessel after hijacking

Three crew were likely kidnapped after the hijackers’ original plan to take the vessel or its cargo failed. The 25-year-old ship was reflagged from Greece to Togo in the past year, and the attack took place in an area where fuel smuggling is common

Three crew were kidnapped from the bunkering tanker Stelios K about 65 nautical miles south of Lagos. The ship was hijacked south of Togo on November 16 but the pirates stayed on board the vessel for a week until next Monday morning, it what a source called a ‘seriously strange’ case
