NYK sees full-year profit doubling on liner and energy business performance
Better performance expected due to progress in its efforts to rationalise its bulker operations and optimism about prospects in the liner and energy transportation sectors. The liner segment did especially well in the second quarter of the year
NYK is taking the early pain of extraordinary losses by redelivering chartered vessels and considering further ‘structural reforms’ in the dry bulk sector. It is however more upbeat on the prospects for its energy division with recovery in crude tankers and stable performance in the gas segment
